Pastoral Care & Well-being
At Shrewsbury House, the well-being and care of the boys is fundamentally important and absolutely central to all that we do. We are dedicated to creating a supportive and nurturing environment where every boy feels valued, encouraged and empowered to thrive.
Every member of staff from the bus drivers, kitchen staff and groundsmen to the teachers and senior leadership team look out for the boys’ wellbeing, and every boy has informal check-ins with their tutor.
Talk Education
Our commitment to outstanding pastoral care was recognised as an area of Significant Strength in our most recent ISI inspection. We take a holistic approach, ensuring that every aspect of school life contributes to each pupil's happiness and personal growth.

Throughout their time at Prep School, every boy is given the opportunity for individual care and support. The school's Pastoral Structure ensures that support is provided at various levels. Your son will have a Form Tutor who oversees his well-being and progress, while the Head of Year monitors the development of all boys in the year group. The Deputy Head Pastoral works closely with staff and provides guidance and support for parents. We also encourage parents to maintain an open line of communication with their son’s Form Tutor.
Leaders’ clear focus on pupils’ well-being through the highly integrated system of tracking and monitoring is a significant strength of the school.’
