Sport
Sport is an integral and vital part of school life for us. We provide a programme based on inclusivity, enjoyment and performance. Although we are proud of our success in regional and national competition, Shrewsbury House is just as focused on providing as broad an opportunity as possible for all boys.
We aim to ensure that every boy experiences the enjoyment and pride of representing his School in each of the core sports: football, rugby and cricket. Shrewsbury House School inspires, educates and develops every boy to achieve high standards and enjoyment through sport and physical education.
Our delivery is led by our core school values of Respect, Integrity, Perseverance, Compassion and Aspiration. We are respected as a progressive and innovative department at the forefront of Prep School sport.
"Plenty of sport, delivered by an inspirational and enthusiastic team. ‘So many opportunities: it is inclusive and equitable’. The ethos encourages sportsmanship and hospitality as a key component."

Although cricket is delivered primarily throughout the summer term, indoor net training (on the school site) takes place throughout the winter months for those boys who wish to hone their skills.

Swimming forms an integral part of school life and we have our own swimming pool on the school site. Aside from the competitive elements to the year-round programme, we all recognise that swimming is an important life skill.

Athletics is delivered alongside cricket in the summer term. The sport forms the foundation for the teaching of Shrewsbury House's PE programme throughout the final months of the academic year. |
